Wattleseeds are highly nutritious and versatile to use.
It has been a staple food for Indigenous people for thousands of years as a rich source of protein, fibre and carbohydrate and used to make cakes and damper.
Wattleseed (victoriae) has a hazelnut, chocolate and coffee taste and aroma, it can be used to make a decaf Wattle Latte.
To make a Wattle Latte
1. In a cup, milk jug or coffee plunger add 2-3 teaspoons of wattleseed grind and 1/4 cup of boiling water.
2. Brew for 3 minutes then strain. Option - Add a drop of local honey to sweeten.
3. Add your favourite frothed milk to make a Wattle Latte.
Cafes and Baristas - Make just like a Chai Latte with honey, strain and sprinkle Wattleseed on top.
